The beatitudes (Mt 5:1–12) are the spiritual characteristics which all Christians should possess, and most of these are the opposite of what the world seeks. As God enables us to have these attitudes, we will be truly blessed by Him with a deep joy which does not depend on our circumstances. This will be experienced both now and when the kingdom is fully revealed when Jesus returns.
