This talk is an introduction to the book of Jonah and to a series of talks about Jonah. The main character of the book, Jonah, is a rebellious prophet who finds it extremely difficult to like God because he doesn’t think that God’s knows best, and he doesn’t think that God does the best things. The theme that runs throughout the book is God’s mercy. God is merciful to Jonah, he is merciful to the people of Nineveh, and he is merciful to some sailors. The book ends with a question which God asks us; ‘my mercy maybe sometimes a mystery, but don’t you think that I know best and do the best things for you?’  In this talk, and in the series, we will be investing God’s mercy and how we can trust God as he impacts our lives.
